Lawrence G. Walters
Lawrence G. Walters heads up the Walters Law Group, an ‘AV’ rated (preeminent) law firm concentrating in Internet law, intellectual property, gaming, and First Amendment issues. Mr. Walters has developed a passion for protecting civil liberties – in particular, online speech and expression. He has devoted over 30 years to defending constitutional rights and protecting artistic freedom. Mr. Walters began practicing law in Central Florida in 1988, after graduating from Florida State University, College of Law, with Honors. While in law school, he studied English common law at St. Edmunds Hall in Oxford University, and interned with a federal judge in the Northern District of Florida. During his career, Mr. Walters has served as a Legal Studies professor at the University of Central Florida and acted as a director for the local bar association and chamber of commerce. Among his many civic and community activities, he has served as Chair of the Legal Panel of the ACLU, Central Chapter, and is a founding member of the Advisory Council for U.C.F. Legal Studies Department. Larry also acts as General Counsel to the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, based in Washington, DC, and serves on the Advisory Council to the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection. He has established and directed numerous non-profit associations and trade groups. His efforts in helping fight online child exploitation earned him the Annual Service Recognition Award from the ASACP. Mr. Walters has been recognized as one of the Top 100 News Makers by the media industry group, Xbiz, and was included in the top 10% in the ‘Best of the Bar’ competition, through a poll conducted by the Orlando Business Journal. In 2016, he was recognized as Media IP Lawyer of the Year, by Corporate LiveWire, and First Amendment Lawyer of the Year in 2018, by Global Law Experts.
Mr. Walters' First Amendment law practice dates to the late '80s when he defended numerous small video stores in Florida against a government censorship campaign. In 1997, he formed the Florida Bar's First Amendment Law Committee, which he chaired for over a decade. He represents hundreds of website operators across the globe in connection with complex Internet law issues. Mr. Walters regularly deals with issues relating to online advertising, Internet gaming, free speech concerns, DMCA Safe Harbor, Section 2257 compliance, domain name disputes, mobile applications, blockchain operations, and other cutting-edge practice areas. Larry often finds himself embroiled in precedent-setting cases in the fields of online gaming, adult entertainment, social networking, and advertising law. Many of his legal victories have been the result of pro bono representation.
In addition to practicing law, Larry has developed various software devices to assist the online entertainment community with legal compliance, including the patented BirthDateVerifier, along with and mobile applications such as Quick2257 to assist with federal records keeping requirements, and QuickDMCA, to simplify online copyright enforcement.
Mr. Walters is a frequent lecturer on free speech issues, and has presented seminars across the country on Internet law, gaming law and the First Amendment. One of his speeches dealing with the First Amendment and Terrorism, was published in the Representative American Speeches of 2003, along with those of former President George W. Bush, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, and Sen. Hillary Clinton. He regularly publishes articles of interest to webmasters on countless websites and magazines, including legal updates directed at specific industries. Larry has also created the Web Law Network, a collection of resource websites providing legal information on a variety of Internet law fields. Over the years, Mr. Walters has published numerous law review articles on free speech issues and gaming law, along with a book chapter on the First Amendment protection of commercial speech.
In 2005, Mr. Walters was appointed to the Board of Officers of the First Amendment Lawyers Association, a prominent, nationwide group of First Amendment practitioners, where he served as the group’s National Chairman and past President. He has earned an “AV” (preeminent) rating from lawyers.com, the industry standard rating service for lawyers, and “10.0 – Superb” by AVVO.com, a popular online attorney rating service. Mr. Walters is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida, along with the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Claims Court. In addition, he has been admitted pro hac vice to courts across the country. In 2016 he received his certification as a foreign trained lawyer from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, after rigorous testing.
Robert J. “Bobby” Desmond
Bobby Desmond is an Associate with Walters Law Group, and he focuses his practice on First Amendment, Internet law, and intellectual property issues.
Mr. Desmond received his Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology & Law from the University of Florida in 2015 where he graduated with honors. While in college, Mr. Desmond worked as an on-air radio personality at Kiss 105.3 FM and wrote a weekly television column for the Independent Florida Alligator. He was a founding member of ChomPics Productions, where he directed or anchored numerous episodes of web-series content. He was also a recipient of the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship and served as a peer mentor for the program.
Mr. Desmond graduated from the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law in 2018. While in law school, he served as Vice President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society and Managing Editor of the Journal of Technology Law & Policy. He also volunteered as a member of the Student Recruitment Team and as an ambassador of the Introduction to Law School and the Profession Orientation.
Mr. Desmond interned for America’s Public Television Stations at PBS in Arlington, VA. There, he prepared legal memoranda on the effect of proposed FCC rules on PBS member stations and other legal issues such as program licensing and the emergency alert system; assisted in researching and drafting comments and reply comments filed in FCC proceedings; and drafted legislation and lobbied members of the FCC and Congress in support of public television initiatives. Mr. Desmond also interned for AMC Networks in New York, NY. There, he drafted employee policies and nondisclosure agreements to secure the company’s intellectual property; negotiated and drafted a large variety of contracts for talent and production services, film acquisitions, video game licenses, merchandising deals, and property leases; sent DMCA takedown requests to social media and e-commerce sites that hosted or sold pirated content; and addressed a variety of legal questions raised by other departments in the cable business including right of publicity laws, guerilla marketing tactics, virtual reality, and more.
Prior to joining Walters Law Group, Mr. Desmond worked as an Associate for a boutique telecommunications law practice that represents telephone, cable, and internet companies. In this position, he concentrated on researching legal issues in defense of business owners and companies in various litigation and regulatory matters at the state and federal level.
Mr. Desmond is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section and Young Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Mr. Braslow received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in 2009 where he graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Braslow graduated from Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center in 2012. While in law school, he held several positions at sports, entertainment, and media organizations, including the Florida Panthers and the Ultimate Fighting Championship where he worked in the Legal Department and developed a pre-fight drug testing program for the Nevada Athletic Commission and the UFC, as well as assisted with domestic and international transactional issues related to apparel, events, fighters, intellectual property, licensing, merchandise, non-disclosure, sales, sponsorship, and sweepstakes rules.
After law school, Mr. Braslow founded Body Slam Consulting, which assists combat sports companies and individuals with various business and legal matters. In addition, Mr. Braslow worked as in-house counsel at Emergency Services 24, Inc. providing corporate guidance regarding issues relating to water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, and flood damage. Mr. Braslow also worked as in-house counsel at SB Holdings I, LLC where he oversaw various hospitality compliance issues at hotel properties located on International Drive in Orlando, FL. Mr. Braslow has also practiced as Associate Counsel for the Law Office of Richard Braslow in Toms River, New Jersey. There, he concentrated on administrative, municipal, regulatory, and transactional law matters involving emergency service organizations and various non-profit entities.
Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Braslow was an Associate at Walters Law Group for several years. While in this position, he focused on assisting with intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, domain disputes, trade secrets, and related litigation. He also provided guidance with First Amendment litigation, gaming and sweepstakes law, and various Internet issues including Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies, and other related agreements. He presently remains Of Counsel to Walters Law Group.
Mr. Braslow is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, the Florida Bar Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Section, the First Amendment Lawyers Association, the National Cannabis Bar Association, and the Esports Bar Association.

Corey D. Silverstein
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 2002, Mr. Silverstein attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2006.
Mr. Silverstein founded the firm in 2006 and has now been practicing law for over a decade.
